Notice of 2009 AGM
The August meeting was our intended to be our AGM. In the August newsletter it was suggested that we try and get a good turn up to discuss the future direction of the club. Unfortunately the turn up was only 5 people. This was extremely disappointing.

Tuna Comp Postponed again
Due to the current weather the Longtail Tuna Chase has again been postponed. It will now be held on the 18th and 19th of April.

New Dates for Tuna Comp
As many are aware the Tuna Chase has been postponed due to unsuitable weather. The committee has made the decision to reschedule the event to this coming weekend 4th and 5th April. When considering this, we weighed up the options over the next 6 weeks and decided this was the best alternative weekend. We are aware this is short notice and apologise for the inconvenience.

The briefing and follow on venues will be as per the plan for last weekend.

Friday 3rd April - Coast Guard at 7:30 pm for the Briefing
Saturday 4th April - Debriefing at 7:30 pm Kawana Hotel
Sunday 5th April - Presentation at 2:00pm at Mooloolaba Coast Guard

We look forward to a great weekend with some fishable conditions.
Tuna Comp Postponed
We've been keeping a very close eye on things today and at this stage things don't look favourable with seabreeze predicting 20+knots for the weekend. This is also combined with a 2.2m---3m swell. It is already breaking across the Mooloolah River mouth on the low tide. With this in mind the committee has regretfully come to the decision to cancel the comp. Appologies to all but you can't control the weather. Now we are also fully aware that some have intended to travel and also have accomodation of some sort booked. Most of us have also arranged leave passes ect from home and probably re-shuffled work committments ect. for this week-end. Most of the sunny coast boys still intend to have a fish on Saturday and possibly Sunday--whether that be for tuna or Borumba ect. we haven't decided, once again that will depend on the prediction for that day but we also wish to extend an invitation to all that we will still have the dinner on Saturday Night 7-30pm at Kawana pub as planned. If you still want to come for the weekend we'd love to see you.
Now you all may be thinking that if the comp is cancelled then how come we are still considering chasing tuna on Saturday??--well basically it comes down to our insurances--our asses won't be covered if something happens during a tournament in what the predicted conditions are.
So, each skipper can make the call as to whether they go for a "social" fish for tuna or whatever. As far as a rescheduled date is concerned we will keep you posted.
